Finally? Maybe?

I feel exhausted, it could be due to the lack of sleep but it could also be due to the race and the finishing the reinstallation of Windows 2000. I came in at 38 minutes and 21 seconds. The Beat Beethoven Race was pretty cool, I mean they had symphony people posted along spots of the race playing their instruments and that was pretty neat. Ed sort of worried me at the beginning-I have to admit I was kind of concerned that he would totally whip me. He was talking about how fast he was running and that he could probably run a kilometre in about four or five minutes. I decided that I probably should just try my best and see what happens. At the start it was so packed it was hard to get any stride going-which was good because I think that forced me to pace myself. Knowing the course ahead of time also helped a lot. I sort of knew what was going on, where to go before I was directed to go in a certain direciton. Ed was actually faster and for a while I thought I would only see him at the finish line-then all of a sudden he drops back to where I was and then disappears in the back! I lost him! People seem to have this perception that I'm fast only I don't think so, I just try to keep the same pace... at least I think so.

I finally managed to reinstall Windows 2000. Its now at the state where I want it. Fortunately my drive was already partition so need to fool around with Partition Magic or stuff like that-but I don't think I even needed to worry about that since the Windows Setup had some kind of partitioning program in it as well. I just inserted the Win2K CD when I was running Windows 98 and selected 'Clean Install' and then went through the custom options. The trouble I encountered the day before about not being able to access the drive was solved when I allowed it to rename 'Programs' to 'Programs1'. It only took six hours to figure out BUT the MSN Messenger 6 games now work! Before it used to say unable to load it but it works fine now. The other weird thing was that in the Saturday night installation of Win2K kept on popping up messages from other advertisers. The only difference was that Sunday's Installation didn't have 'Client for Microsoft Networks' uninstalled. hmm....

Its all luck... maybe?

So after three horus, I managed to install Windows 98 onto one of my new drives and a separate installation of Windows 2000 onto a partition. The Windows 98 works fine and fast (as expected) but the Windows 2000 is buggy. Its not loading the programs and claims that programs don't exist or incorrect paths when I had just successfully installed and run them before the reboot. It seems that I can't run a single program on there.. maybe I can just try to reinstall it again tomorrow after the race.

Yesterday at K-days was pretty fun! I went with Emmanuel and we pretty much toured the place, listened to Sloan, saw the Scandinavian exhibit. We lost half of our group when Connie and I went to go get our Deep Fried Mars bar (tastes better than it reads). The mini-donut machine was also ultra-cool. I saw these motorized scooters that I totally wanted one but didn't try the game. Nearing the end Dan and I played this game where you had to toss these plastic rings onto the necks of bottles. We both chipped in a dollar and got six rings each. I managed to throw one on the bottle and I got myself a mini-bike!! I was totally amazed that I actually won! I mean I haven't been to K-days (let alone play a game) since like the eighties and then all of a sudden I won. Huh. Totally weird. Tons of fun. Will post pics later, must rest now.
