I may not be updating as frequently these next few weeks because of finals, projects, and a few other things... rest assure like that song you never really forget... I'll be back!

Editplus...

A friend of mine introduced me to Editplus. Now some of you may go "why do you have to go and use Editplus when you have Notepad, Motepad, Pico, or Emacs? While it's true I have been using those three as my main text editor there have always been times when I needed more. Like notepad does not do syntax highlighting... which after a lot of coding is really helpful. Pico is really limited to a shell access because... that's where you find it. Neither Notepad nor Pico have an easy way of keeping track of lines (at least none that I have found). Emacs is cool but in all honnesty it seems like a different key set.

Edit plus is great because it does do syntax highlighting BUT it also has a built in FTP client which lets you edit files remotely!!! This is great because I don't have shell access for some of my websites... shell access is the equivalent of a command line interface. You get in and out quickly do your thang and done! Before I had to a) download the page b) edit and save c) reupload the page.... but with Edit Plus all you do is setup an ftp account, load it up and boom you can edit right there with syntax highlighting and all that jazz! Which is really, really, cool.
