Cool Legally free software
At my work place and among friends I find I've been asked a lot about what kind of software people can use if they don't want to pay for the expensive Microsoft ones. Sometimes it feels like you're inundated with MS-this and MS-that that there doesn't seem to be anything else. This isn't to say that all microsoft software is bad-it's just that on a low-budget who can afford it? So to help you get a start on things here are some that I use:
- For surfing the net: Firefox
- E-mail: Thunderbird
- MP3 editing:Audacity
- Image Stuff: Gimp or possibly Image Magick
- Editing and writing simple text files: Edit Plus (It's not free but it does a lot!!)
