I remember...
Back in high school physics class a friend of mine asked the teacher what would happen if all the people in China were to jump at at the same time. My teacher scoffed at him and told him to think about more important things like how long it would take a for wooden block to slide down a 30 degree decline ramp in a perfect world without any friction.
